Law Internship Opportunity

CAREERS: The Office of the DVC Academics in collaboration with #UPLaw is offering a Law Internship opportunity to candidates who wish to gain practical experience and exposure as they prepare to serve vocational training and pupilage, or wish to enter academia, among other things. This is in line with UP’s Ready for Work initiative for students.

Remuneration: R6 500 per month (40 hours per week)

Interns’ responsibilities:

The successful candidates will be placed in Faculties for the period of internship. In general, the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, executing administrative duties, data collection and management, typing, attending to student queries, providing legal advice, assisting with drafting of documents, reviewing documents, exposure to the student disciplinary process, etc.

Prior work experience is not a requirement.

All successful candidates will receive training, thus work experience is not a requirement.

Candidate requirements:

* Only LLB graduates from UP will be considered;
* LLG graduates must have an aggregate academic average of 65%);
* Languages: English – spoken and written;
* Never participated in the UP-internship programme;
* Must not have been found guilty of any misconduct during your tenure at the University of Pretoria and should be in good standing.
