A Medical Insurance Company based in Benoni, Gauteng is looking for a Driver who will make  multiple daily deliveries and collections of goods, materials, equipment and personnel, with changes to the planned program or schedule often required as short notice.
Maintain constant contact and communication with the dispatcher to keep them informed and be proactive, with approval, in making rescheduling or alternative decisions.

Key Tasks 

Deliver and Collect Materials and Equipment Deliver goods over local/inter-city/inter-provincial routes as directed

  • Undertake Multi-stop loads
  • Follow ALL procedures and regulations re: transport of hazardous materials
  • Maintain completeness and accuracy of all documentation related to collection and deliveries
  • Maintain constant communication with Dispatcher
  • Record deliveries and driving incidents, routes, etc. via e-logs, etc
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws
  • Take prescribed rest periods during trips

Transport Personnel

  • Transport personal over local/inter-city/inter-provincial routes as directed
  • Transport personnel for business engagements, meetings, shuttle etc
  • Maintain the safety of passengers when on duty

Perform Ad hoc Duties

  • Do official banking as required, e.g. collect cash/make payments at the bank
  • Check that vehicles license disc, tracker and eTag are up to date
  • Perform minor vehicle repairs in roadside emergencies
  • Maintain the safety of company vehicles when on duty
  • Report vehicle maintenance problems to the appropriate personnel
  • Fill up on fuel and do routine pre-trip inspections
  • Perform additional duties as and when required

Essential Qualifications 

  • Matric
  • Code 8 Drivers License

  • 1 year experience in a similar role
