JOB TITLE: LIBRARY ASSISTANT
(THE POSITION WILL BE STATIONED IN ALGERIA)

Duties: To assist the supervisor with the services, operations and activities of the library including the performing of general library counter services to the public, the organizing, controlling and maintaining of library materials, the marketing and advancement of library services and materials, planning, co-ordinating and managing activities and other general administrative and library tasks and duties ● The full scope of does is contained in the job description.

Requirements: Grade 12 ● Fluent in two of the three languages of the Western Cape Computer literate Ms Word / Outlook ● Attention to detail ● Administration skills ● Protocol and business ethics ● Good Communicaton abililes ● Able to work under pressure ● Time management ● 0-1 years’ relevant experiential knowledge of public libraries.

Remuneration: T6 (R 145 466.88 – R 188 838.12) per annum plus normal municipal benefits.

The competency level for this position is a level 1 (LIBRARY INFORMATION COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK) as stipulates in Annexure A of the Municipal Staff Regulations Government Notice R890 as promulgated in Government Gazette 45181 dated 20 September 2021 and comprises of the following competencies.
